Endodontic Surgery

Occasionally, if a tooth has had Root Canal Therapy and it does not heal as expected, it may need Endodontic Surgery, also called Apical Surgery or an Apicoectomy. Also, if there is inflammation or infection which persists in the bone at the end of a root and Retreatment is not the best treatment option, Endodontic Surgery may be needed in order to save the tooth.

It is a minor surgical procedure done in the office under local anesthetic to address the inflammation or infection in the bone around the tooth.
